| SALİHLİ The foundation of Salihli goes back to Before Christ (BC). The capital city of LYDIA, SART that had reached to the progressive civilization in BC time, is only 10km. south of Salihli. A tomb belongs to a LYDIA King Giges, Arthemis Temple and Marble Court with Gymnasium belong to Romans time and other similar historical ruins are the places worth to be seen. Salihli is now a town, a party City of Manisa with in the borders of the Aegean Region.It is located on the south of Gediz meadow, on sloopy land descents from Boz Mountains hillside towards end of the meadow. As it is located right on the İzmir- Afyon railway and İzmir- Afyon railway and İzmir - Ankara motorway, it is a well- developed town.It is 125 meter high from the sea level and 1303 km2 plain. There are 78 villages around it and the population is over 100.000. There are famous Lead and Mud Baths at 5 and 14 km south of the town.Demirköprü dam is 24 km away on the north. There are also a lot of promenade places around Salihli that one never gets tired of seeing. Bozdağ is one of these natural beauties. Seedlees grape,cotton, tobacco and Valonia Oak take important places in industrial productions. |
